Sharine, kidney patients are not suppose to drink too much water less they will have water retention. So doctor would have give them a limit to drink each day.
However my downline's mother started to drink KW following the limit set by her doctor - 500ml per day. She noticed that she pee more, so she SLOWLY increased her intake of KW, while monitoring against water retention. After few months she can take in 1 Liter KW per day. Her health and energy improved tremendously. She even occasionally skipped her three-times-per-week dialysis, but still felt better. Last month she went for a week holiday without dialysis and she just felt fine.
All this must be explained to your friend in detail so that she monitor her intake of water slowly.
